Rose Waters

Rose Waters joined Capital OBGYN in June of 2025. She was born and raised in Yolo County and went to college in Los Angeles where she obtained a Bachelors degree in English literature. She spent several years as a substitute teacher and outdoor educator while spending time travelling in Europe, Asia, North Africa, and Central and South America before deciding to pursue a career in women’s health. She became an RN through the Masters Entry Program at UC San Francisco and went on to specialize in Midwifery and Women’s Health, obtaining a Masters of Science in Nursing and becoming licensed as a Certified Nurse Midwife.

During training, she worked in a student role at San Francisco General Hospital, UCSF, Sutter Davis Hospital, and various community clinics in the Bay Area and Sacramento. After licensure she worked at several community clinics that provide prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic care including Mary’s Center and Unity Health Care in Washington, D.C. and also spent a year working at an out-of-hospital birth center in Oregon. Then, as a mother of young children, she moved with her family back to her roots in California. She worked at Communicare Health Centers for 7 years before transitioning to her current role at Capital OBGYN.

Rose’s clinical interests are in guiding women through pregnancy and empowering them to make decisions for themselves. She is also interested in hormonal health through the childbearing years and the transition to menopause.

Rose speaks Spanish and is working on learning Russian. She enjoys reading, sewing, baking, dancing, and singing, but spends most of her time driving her four kids to their various activities, helping with math homework, supervising violin practice, preparing snacks, and answering questions about the nature of the universe.
